So a recent post from the New Zealand Herald got me thinking. A Christian group on Auckland University campus are inviting people to “egg a Christian.” The catch is they have to listen to the easter story of Jesus and his resurrection.
When I first heard this, I applauded their creativity. But the more I have thought about it, it seems more gimmicky than authentic. I’m a little concerned they might experience more broken noses than transformed hearts.
I could be wrong.
You can read the article yourself HERE.
What you consider gimmick I looked at as an opportunity. Sometimes there is probably a fine line between those two options. I wonder what the rest of the world thinks?
I understand the opportunity, but I am starting to disagree with the idea based off of lack of building authentic relationships to tell people about Jesus. “You can throw an egg at us, but you have to listen to us about Jesus.” What about we will serve you so you can see Jesus, no strings attached. I just feel it gives the perception that Christians are out to trick people into something. IMO!
