So much of life is spent in routine.
If you are like me you can probably rattle off your morning routine all the way through your day leading to bedtime.
In the morning I take a shower, put on deodorant, clean my ears, blow my nose, brush my teeth, spray some cologne and then get ready (now you know more about me than you ever wished to).
Routine is not a bad thing. But I feel like sometimes it gets in my way.
When I was younger (and partially brain dead) I was all about spontaneity and adventures. Routine didn’t rule my life.
The statement “stop and smell the roses” rings true.
Everyday God invites us on an adventure.
Everyday we wake up and God asks, “Where do you want to go?”
We are invited to choose where we go and how we get there. We can choose a safe route or a more dangerous one.
Life is really like a choose your own adventure book (I miss those, maybe I’ll write one someday).
God joins us in those adventures and encourages us to choose where to go now, rather than putting it off to the dreaded “someday!” (Maybe I’ll go ahead and write that book now!)
The beauty of going on an adventure is “we become who we are in those adventures along the way.”
Life is about taking chances and being willing to step out of our routine and live life.
It is about listening to the voice of God in our lives guiding us to something better, something greater.
It is about answering the question: Where do you want to go?
