Perception > Reality

Most of us like to live in reality. I say most because some people prefer to live in la la land.

But whose reality is right?

Most of the time when we speak of reality, we are speaking of perceptions.

For instance, if you have a bad experience at a restaurant and I have a good one, whose reality is right? Is the restaurant bad or good?

Now, I can tell you it’s good, but nothing is going to change your perception until you have another experience that tells you different.

Experience overrides knowledge.

The same thinking can be applied when talking about God.

If someone has had bad experiences in life and they blame God or a Christian has mistreated them or they had a bad experience in church, their perception is that God/Christians is/are bad, no matter the reality.

I say all this to show, it really doesn’t matter how much you know, until they know how much you care. Their perception will stay the same until experience teaches them otherwise.

So, if you are a Christ-Follower, what are you going to do about it?
