I am currently in a season of trying to figure out those things that only I can do. I am looking for those areas where I am uniquely gifted to serve.
This is important for many reasons, but one of the most important is to make sure I am spending my best energies in the appropriate places.
In any given day, we have only so many energies that we can put forth and still remain effective in what we do. Wayne Cordiero calls them “bursts of energy.”
Wayne also mentions this fact:
“Eighty-Five percent of what you do, anyone can do. Ten percent of what you do, someone with moderate training should be able to accomplish. But five percent of what you do, only you can do.”
For instance:
Only I can have a personal relationship with God for me.
Only I can be a husband to my wife and a father to my kids.
I am in a season of reconfirming my calling from God. I’m asking Him to show me where I am uniquely qualified to serve.
This may take some time. It may take some brutal honesty with myself.
But in the end, it will be well worth the journey and I will most likely be more effective for it in all areas of my life.
God will use you in unique ways.
