I heard it once said that, “fear is the most valuable commodity in the world.”
Think about it: turn on the T.V. And what do you see? People selling products? No, they are selling the fear of you having to live without their product.
We have all kinds of fear.
Fear of aging.
Fear of loneliness.
Fear of poverty.
Fear of failure.
The world we live in knows that we have these fears. So, they gear their products to sell us on the idea that without their products we are lost.
Fear is the most basic of emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells.
The world knows this & we go through life thinking if I only had that “thing” I would be happy, satisfied, complete.
Satan knows we have fears as well. He preys on us like a lion. He can smell our fears.
He sells us on the idea that we are lacking, so we seek to fill ourselves in all the wrong places.
Instead, we should be looking to fill ourselves with all that matters…Jesus.
I had a friend once tell me, “A little fear is healthy. Letting you fear rule you and your decisions is not.”
Jesus offers a life free of fear; fear that controls. A life where all that matters is who we belong to and living a life like Him.
Here is what I’m learning about the difference between fear and faith:
Fear chokes. Faith brings energy.
Fear stagnates. Faith motivates.
Fear kills. Faith brings life.
Fear limits. Faith sees all things as possible.
Fear blinds. Faith opens our eyes to the unknown.
As cheesy as it sounds, “we have nothing to fear, but fear itself.”
Let go of your fear. Grab hold in faith to Jesus.
Experience the difference!
