No More Faith

One author in the Bible calls faith “being confident of what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

Faith is what makes life worth living.

Faith drives us to something greater.

But having faith is hard too!

One of my favorite story-telling artists, Andrew Peterson, has a song that talks about faith this way:

“Faith is burden, it is a weight to bear; it is brave and bittersweet. And hope is hard to hold to. Lord I believe only help my unbelief. Till there’s no more faith, no more hope, I see your face and Lord I’ll know, only love remains.”

Faith exists because we need it. We need to believe that there is a God out there that loves us even though he knows “how dark we really are inside.”

We need faith to be able to say to God, “I’ll praise your name in glory and in pain.”

But have you ever wondered what it will be like when there is no more need for faith?

That day when all that remains is love because Christ has completed all restoration in us and on this earth.

One day there will be no more need for faith.

One day there will be no more need for hope.

Because on that day love will win out completely and we will be with the Creator of all that is good and perfect.

Until that day we remain to live in hope. We continue to fight for peace. We continue to believe and have faith.

Until the day faith is needed no more!

“I believe. Help me overcome my unbelief.”

“These three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
